Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She later sold the business to NRT for $66 million. Shortly thereafter she resigned from the company. Corcoran, one of ABC's initial Shark investors has been part of each episode of Shark Tank. In February of 2020, she had completed 53 deals. The largest of these was a $350,000 investment in Coverplay at 40 percent. Corcoran is the second child of 10 from a family of Irish Catholics who worked hard was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a homemaker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. moved from job to job during Corcoran's childhood. Her family depended sometimes on food deliveries from an artisanal local grocery store for free food. Corcoran recalls that her father was an intoxicated man who would sometimes treat her mother with contempt and disrespect, particularly after he had been drinking. Corcoran struggled throughout her schooling before discovering that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended a Catholic elementary school. Corcoran, who had failed numerous classes in her freshman year, moved to Leonia High School. There she was awarded a D.
